A complete transformation of a neglected rear garden, taken from an overgrown plot with failing fence panels and cracked concrete slabs through to a level, finished and usable outdoor space.
The work began with clearance and excavation. Spoil was dug out and carted away using a micro excavator and tracked dumper, and the whole plot was re-graded to take out the fall running across the garden.
New retaining and boundary walls were built to hold the revised levels, and the boundaries were re-fenced throughout with close-board panels on concrete posts. A large porcelain-paved terrace was laid across the rear of the property and around the outbuilding, with brick edging, steps between the levels and a linear drainage channel along the paving to carry surface water away from the house.
The remaining area was prepared with a fresh topsoil bed and finished in laid turf, with paved paths linking the terrace to the rest of the garden.
